Remembrance
At Good Sprout Rescue & Sanctuary, we believe every animal deserves to know love, safety, and compassion.
The animals remembered here have crossed the Rainbow Bridge, but their stories live on through the lives they touched. Whether they arrived as babies, seniors, survivors, or lifelong residents, each one played an important role in our journey.
We are grateful for the time we shared, the trust they placed in us, and the memories they left behind. As we remember them today, we celebrate lives well-lived, deeply loved, and never forgotten.

Clovis

Clovis is a Corturnix quail who, along with his brothers Suzaku, Duncan, Quinoa, Pinecone, and Millet, was rescued after a tornado destroyed the farm he was living at. Clovis is a dignified gentleman who loves nothing more than taking a well deserved afternoon nap. After all, being a rescued quail is hard work!
Clovis had leukemia and while we managed it the best we possibly could with our vets, we knew our time with him was short. And we loved every minute.
Flecha

Flecha, along with his brother Eddie and sisters Nyssa and Blossom, was rescued in Brooklyn, New York from being slaughtered for a religious ritual called Kaporos. Flecha is an outgoing, spirited guy who is well respected by all of his flockmates. He enjoys checking his caretakers’ pockets for snacks, playing with his friends, and digging in the dirt!
Flecha battled an autoimmune disease that caused severe osteoarthritis and we were able to manage his pain for with our vet team for quite some time... but he let us know when he didn't want to continue his fight. His flock mates always looked to him for guidance and even on the day we were given the honor to help him pass, they looked to him in his last moments even though his face was covered in a mash that he was able to enjoy while sitting in the grass and basking in the sun.

Conrad

Conrad, like so many roosters, was sadly abandoned by his guardian after it was discovered that he was male and would therefore never lay eggs. Being out in the wild with no protection from predators is very dangerous for chickens, and shortly after he was abandoned Conrad was attacked by a bobcat. Miraculously he survived the attack, and a kind person reached out to us to see if we would help him. Conrad made a full recovery from his ordeal we are so happy to have him in our sanctuary family! He is a very sweet and affectionate guy who loves to snuggle with his humans and get scrtiches!
